San Francisco International Arts Festival

On May 3, 2025, I have the special privilege to premiere a new piece of music dedicated to orixá, or deity, Ogum from the Afro Brazilian Candomblé religion. This piece is an extension of my 10+ years of study with master drummer Jorge Alabê. The concert will take place on my home turf, the San Francisco Community Music Center. Taken in October of 2018, this is an excerpt from the public performance culminating my Alliance for California Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Grant. The video, taken by Ricardo Esway, includes myself, my teacher, Jorge Alabê, Derek Wright, Deborah Cogan along with dancers Shanna Sordahl, Anibal Mejia, Josephine Morada and Rudy Ortiz.
